JORD Overview
Judy Organization for Relief and Development (JORD) is a national, humanitarian, independent, and non-profit organization established in 2012, operating in the Kurdistan region of Iraq and North-East Syria, and working in humanitarian relief sector, development, education, livelihood, child protection, and Syrian missing persons.

How it started
Launch of Judy Association
A group of 6 refugee friends living in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, gathered and created JORD on August 5, 2012, in the name of Judy Association. No legal papers, no statutes, nothing at all, just a group of volunteers gathering funds and assisting those in need.
Getting the NGO License
On June 6, 2013, JORD was officially registered as a Local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with the directorate of NGOs (DNGOs) of Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KR-I). JORD was one of the first local Organizations registered in KR-I.
Our First Project
Later that year, JORD received its first official project, Newroz Vocational Center in Erbil was funded by Kurdistan Region Government (KRG) through the Directorate of Non-Governmental Organizations (DNGOs), which marked the beginning of JORD‘s journey in the humanitarian sector.

Over the years, JORD has provided a variety of service, including:
Food, essentials, cash aid, medical support, learning programs, online classes, coding, PSS, awareness sessions, vocational training, community projects with CSOs and volunteers, and Missing Persons advocacy and data collecting.

JORD has two offices in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KR-I), and a branch in north-east Syria.
The Registered Offices in KR-I are:
- Head office: located at Daratu Road, Erbil, Iraq.
- Sub Office: located at Domiz1 Camp, Duhok, Iraq.
