World Refugee Day in Refugee Camps
From the 18th to the 20th of June 2023, Judy Organization for Relief and Development (JORD) stood shoulder to shoulder with fellow NGOs within refugee camps, collectively commemorating World Refugee Day. This annual event, observed worldwide on the 20th of June, is a tribute to the courage and determination of those who have been compelled to abandon their homes in search of safety and a chance at a better life.
And in this spirit of solidarity, JORD took the opportunity to celebrate the academic achievements of outstanding students within their educational institutions. These high-achieving individuals represent a beacon of hope, demonstrating resilience and a steadfast commitment to their education despite the challenges they have faced.
Furthermore, JORD extended its gratitude to official institutions within the refugee camps of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. These organizations have played an integral role in providing support and resources to displaced communities, contributing to the collective effort to rebuild lives and restore dignity.
This commemoration of World Refugee Day serves as a powerful reminder of the strength that can emerge from adversity. Through these gestures of recognition and appreciation, JORD continues to stand by the side of those in pursuit of hope, ensuring that no one’s journey towards a brighter future goes unnoticed or celebrated.
