The International Committee on Missing Persons’ ‘Small Grants Program’ ran for six weeks from October 15 to November 30, 2021, across Sulaymaniyah, Duhok, and Erbil provinces. Funded by the European Union, this initiative, in collaboration with ICMP, focused on three key activities: conducting media interviews with legal experts affiliated with JORD, and organizing an art exhibition featuring 50 panels.

This program targeted Syrian missing persons’ families and the wider community. It involved a well-organized team from JORD in Erbil and Duhok, along with the Syrian Missing Persons’ Families Network in Kurdistan, Iraq.

In essence, the ‘Small Grants Program’ aimed to raise awareness on missing persons and international law through media interviews and an art exhibition. Successful community engagement was evident, with approximately 500 participants in the exhibition. Emphasizing support for Syrian missing persons’ families, this project showcased effective collaboration between involved parties, highlighting and addressing this critical humanitarian issue.
