Project Summary:

Throughout 2023, Judy Organization for Relief and Development (JORD) provided a diverse range of relief services, spanning 17 different activities aimed at supporting vulnerable populations. These activities included distributing essential food baskets, providing medical supplies, facilitating surgeries, delivering medical and health services, offering cash assistance, distributing meat and Eid sweets, small grants in the shape of sewing machines and materials for families in need, as well as providing clothes and non-food items such as household furniture.

Geographical Coverage:

JORD’s relief aid efforts extended across various regions, encompassing areas within the Erbil Governorate, Duhok Governorate, refugee camps, and areas inside Syria. A total of 38 areas were reached, including 4 in Duhok, 28 in Erbil, and 6 inside Syria.

Assistance to Vulnerable Families:

In total, 751 vulnerable families, including Syrian refugees both inside and outside camps, Iraqi displaced persons, and members of the host community, received critical assistance from JORD. This aid directly impacted 3,500 individuals, providing them with much-needed support during challenging times.

Beneficiaries Breakdown:

JORD’s relief aid directly reached 946 Syrian refugees, 722 Iraqi displaced persons, 423 individuals from the host community, and 1,409 individuals inside Syria, offering them essential relief and hope for a better tomorrow.

Estimated Value of Assistance:

The estimated value of the distributed relief assistance stood at $31,065, covering direct support, indirect aid, coordination efforts, collaboration with volunteers, and support from donor companies.

JORD’s relief efforts were made possible through generous donations from various sources, including Judy Organization for Relief and Development, community members, PWC Company, Bihorns Company, and Al-Mushaltat Restaurant.

Targeted Communities and Areas:

The relief activities targeted Syrian refugees and Iraqi displaced persons in Kurdistan Region – Iraq (Erbil and Duhok Governorates), as well as the host community. Additionally, support was extended to the host community in Northeast Syria, focusing on the most vulnerable populations such as orphans, widows, patients, vulnerable families, and families of Syrian Missing Persons.

In summary, 2023 marked a year of impactful humanitarian relief efforts by JORD. Through collaborative work and the generous support of our partners and the community, we reached thousands in need, providing vital assistance where needed. Looking ahead, we remain committed to serving communities with compassion and determination, driven by the belief that every individual deserves to live in dignity. Together, we will continue to build a brighter future for those facing adversity.
