Project Summary:
The Judy Vocational Center in Msirik, supported generously by the Danish Church Aid (DCA) and funded by the Danish people, provided vocational courses and awareness sessions in the Livelihoods sector. Judy Organization for Relief and Development spearheaded these activities.
This center offered diverse vocational courses encompassing sewing, smartphone repair, computer basics, English language, men’s hairdressing, and electrical installations. Additionally, it conducted numerous awareness sessions covering health, social, educational, and child protection topics within the Msirik area of Semel District, Dohuk Governorate.
Executed across three phases between 2022 and 2023, the project involved conducting a needs assessment survey in Semel, delivering vocational courses for men, women, youth, and girls, and organizing general and health awareness sessions.
The project targeted individuals from the host community, Iraqi internally displaced persons, and Syrian refugees, aiming to boost their economic and social capabilities by imparting essential vocational skills and knowledge to improve livelihoods.
Through the collaborative efforts of Judy Organization for Relief and Development, Danish Church Aid (DCA), and the Danish people, the center successfully provided crucial support to families in Msirik, enhancing their prospects for sustainable employment and fostering comprehensive regional development.
