Psychosocial and Educational Support Activities for Refugee and Displaced Children and Their Families in Daratu – Erbil and Domiz – Duhok Regions

Project Summary:

An educational and recreational center was executed by Judy Organization for Relief and Development in partnership with the Danish organization DCA and funding from Church of Sweden. The project provided psychosocial support activities, diverse recreational activities, and educational support services to Syrian refugee children, Iraqi displaced children, and the host community in Erbil and Duhok through online means. The project initially spanned for 1 year, from January 15, 2020, to December 31, 2020, with an extension due to activity suspension until the end of February 2021. Project activities included psychosocial and educational support, rehabilitation of schools, and distribution of aid to address the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
PSS and education sessions were provided using online tools, where video lessons were recorded, published, and children’s progress was tracked through WhatsApp and Telegram groups.
